I was thinking about getting a steam cleaner but
some do a little and others do a lot.
But which one is the best , has anyone got one!!

No I haven't ... but I've been tempted to.

I like the sound of them. I've heard glowing reports from people who've invested in one ... but never took much notice of which brand they had. ... or whether it was one of the small hand held ones or larger models. I fancy one for doing my bathroom and kitchen bits and bobs.

beloved has tried several and in a nutshell they are bloody useless she'd rather use a mop on
the wood floor as for laminate floors the machine gets so hot it raises the floor in the joints
not too bad on tiled floors.

Agree with Diggers, absolutely useless I got one from ebay some years ago used once and thrown in the garage.....save your money !

It just doesn't work and even if it did it cannot be used on cork tiles or lino tiles.
A total waste of money !

M is pretty much spot on.....But our house is an old Spanish one and they work wonders on tiled and slabbed floors.....

Tiled floors is all they are good for.  I bought mine for laminate....useless.
