And???

The answer was, as ourjimmy suggests....it did not play. I later found out that the grooves were cut in the wrong side of the disc and the disc was revolving in the wrong direction. When I succeeded in reversing the rotation of my CD player it  played. But now, as all the assembled collected crowd were quick to detect, it sounded just like some stuff turned out by a  foreign chap called Mahler.

That's what was wrong,a cd should not have grooves. Throw it away.

Much as I would like to provide you with a copy, I think I shall have much difficulty in searching through the East Riding's waste disposal sites for it.
It is well over ten years since it went and I think there is a strong possibility of it being "well down" by now.
