Why is it that no matter how posh a kitchen is shown in an American film they always use a whistling kettle, can't they afford an electric one? How is it that when a bathroom scene is depicted in an American film you cannot see across the room for voluminous clouds of steam, and the mirror is covered with condensation?  Don't they heat their bathrooms or use extractor fans?  With me standing in the shower, and 'Er indoors lying in a bath full of water, our relatively small bathroom does not contain clouds of steam, neither is the mirror misted up.  Why in American films when a car pulls into a kerb, no matter how busy the traffic is, there is always room for one car, and why do they never lock the door when they get out?

Just wondering.

It's called 'Directing' andsome .... adding stuff to enforce and instil a sense of reality, sometimes over the top I must admit !

I believe in realism.
