sympathises to all but something mart said back there hit a chord :

I once heard that backs are particularly vulnerable because the joints are not really designed for us to walk upright. We might need some more evolution to occur before our backs will cope with what we ask of them.

so starting at school we have all been encouraged to keep our backs straight - don't slouch davo keep your head up - and plenty of school sports etc - maybe all of this has contributed to bad backs? and then think about our elite athletes and the effort they have to put into exercising and they do finish their careers early and have plenty of injuries in between!

yes maybe we were all conned??

ps malcolm your quote feature aint workin I've tried it three times

The other thing I heard about backs (so many things we hear) is that, as we age, the Earth's gravity takes its toll. The years of being pulled towards the ground puts a strain on backs and makes the spine not as straight as it was when we started walking upright as children.

Well yes, maybe we should walk on all fours for just getting around and only rise up when needing to reach things that are high up? No more bad backs.

I unfortunately fell out of a loft space a few years ago. Heavy case does not equal an open hatch doorway. Initially I thought I was ok. The following day I could not walk. I went to the doctors whom prescribed a multitude of pain killers.

I was like a zombie and literally was nearly falling asleep in work.

A friend of mine who is a Yogi  came to see me and told me to stop all medication. She did this most amazing back type massage but more movement and told me to carry on everyday with these exercises.

I was a bit concerned about coming off the medication but when she did the first movement I felt something give. I had hardly any pain the following day and continued the exercises. It definitely made a difference.

Even without the suitcases Goldie, gravity is a funny thing. It always has a tendency to pull you down to solid objects like floors.

Do you know you suddenly are aware of that half way down  yes trying to hang on to the ladder mid fall with your legs is absolutely no good as you eventually just drop. Which I discovered.

I wondered why people just kept shaking their heads with, I don't believe it  look on their face.

I thought the suitcase  was empty. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it   smile
